... First off, shne sounds way too much like my mom, and from my experience, not having hobbies and focusing on school is going to suck your brain out and make you miserable.

Secondly, Dueling can make you filthy rich. Or help lead you to doing so.

She doesn't believe in any stability in dueling related jobs. And I have hobbies. She just thinks this one in particular is nothing but a distracting money-sink.

It's not meant to be stable. It's like sports. You're in for a few years, get a mega contract, save and invest most of the money and use it to fund other projects you care about.
